Tank Accessories

Here at Precolor Tank Division, as well as our specialised service providing a range of water tanks and other liquid storage tanks, we also supply a range of tank accessories. This includes insulation, access hatches, raised ball valve housing and drip trays.
When it comes to insulating your tank, it is possible to have your tank made from plain GRP (glass-reinforced plastic), but there is also the option to have the tank pre-insulated. We have a choice of 25mm, 50mm, 75mm or 100mm encapsulated HCFC (hydrochlorofluorocarbons) and CFC (chlorofluorocarbon) free foam insulation.

Access Hatches

Access hatches, or inspection hatches or “manways” are a type of covering that allows the area to be covered whilst also allowing access. They are available in both a standard square shape, using wing-nuts and bolts, as well as a circular black hatch with a collar screwed down, with the hatch screwed into the collar and supplied in a choice of two sizes (400mm and 570mm), as opposed to the square hatches (600mm).
Raised ball valve housings are bolted to the lid of the tank in order to raise the capacity if the tank. When used with screen spill-over weirs, they can offer type AB airgaps. They can be made to match the colour of your tank, with a choice of a lid or side access. Additionally, it’s possible to buy these separately, bolting them onto an existing lid.

Drip Trays

Last in our range of tank accessories are drip trays, which are made for our standard range of tanks, but can be fabricated to suit the length and width of your tank.

Insulation

All of our tanks can be manufactured as Plain GRP or Pre-Insulated with 25, 50, 75 or 100mm encapsulated HCFC and CFC Free foam insulation.
See picture to the right with standard insulation provisions allowing a single skin wall to be easily drilled for fittings.

Access Hatches

Also known as Inspection Hatch(es) and Manway(s) our Standard Square GRP Hatches (Wingnut & Bolted) are available in the following sizes:-

  • 600mm Hole (700mm Overall)
  • Overall Height of Hatch : 100mm

Pictured on the right are our Round Black Plastic Hatches (Collar screwed down, Hatch screws into collar) are available in the following sizes:-

  • 400mm (450mm overall)
  • 570mm (620mm overall)
  • Overall Height of Hatch : 30mm

Raised Ball Valve Housings

Bolted to the lid of the tank for increasing the capacity of the tank but also to provide Type AB Airgaps (when supplied with Screened Spillover Weirs). Available in matching colour to the tank, with either lid with wingnuts or Side access with wingnuts. These can also be provided separately to be bolted onto most existing lids.

Drip Trays

Precolor”s GRP Driptrays are suitable for our standard sized tanks.

They can also be fabricated to suit any length or width requirements.
